Default engine studder

I have a 2000 Chrysler Neon, it has 123k and I am having a studder problem with the engine at low RPM's in mostly noticed in second gear(between 1500-2500).
I have already replaced the spark plugs, wires and air filter. I think it might possibly a fuel problem, does anyone have any insight into the problem, of has anyone experienced this before?

Any help would be great.

Justin

That is probably a good assumption. I'm not sure what is a good fuel system cleaner, but I think there is another thread around here talking about fuel system cleaners. If I find it I will link it here for you.

I have a similar probem with my 01, I have no tach so i have to describe the RPM range in terms of gear and MPH. Mine has a slight hesitation which is noticeable in 2nd gear from 35 - 45 MPH under load (i.e. accelerating) with the throttle around 3/4 to 7/8.. The problem either goes away when I'm pulling at full throttle or it gets through the hesitation quickly.

I've replaced plugs, my wires are new (10 K on them) and I still have the problem. It seems a bit better since i swapped out my Bosch platinums for NGK's. I just ut a can of BG-44K in tonight and I'll let you know after this tank is gone if it has improved. BG 44K is a fuel system cleaner and it's damn expensive ($21/can) butI've had good luck with it in the past.

Other than the above items I may have a problem with my K&N air filter. Each time I take it off to clean it i noitce there is a fine black crud in the throttle body. I believe the K&N does not filter as well as the stock filter, but it does breathe better (hmmm I wonder why). Anyway I may need to remove my throttle body and intake manifold and clean them out, along with any sensors in the intake air stream.

Thanks, I will have a look at my filter as well, cause that is the same filter I have.
I will also try some other plugs and see what happens, let me know hat you find with your filter though.
I just put some fuel cleaner, it is supposed to do the whole system, the injectors, combustion chamber and everything...how much BS is in this I will soon find out, but it wasn't quite as expensive.

Thanks guys.

P.S. Hey do these things have in-line fuel filters or are they in the tank??

Neons from what i knoe is that the filter is in the tank, and its a dealer part far as i know, i already looked into it. You can probably go the ebay route , it'll probably cost about 150 for the pump and filter, not exaxtly sure. I geuss my question is on how long the fuel pumps last?????? my car has about 58k on it, I wouldn't knowif I should go that far.

If I remember right the pump and filter are all one piece and are in the tank. At 58,000 miles your pump and filter should be totally fine.
