Well I drove my car for a good hour or so and when I got out I thought I might take a look under the hood. In the back left corner of the bay I found a long cylindrical device and it looked like it was dripping water from it. I dont know what this device is or if it should be leaking water? Any input would be great.

The big cylindrical thing is indeed your a/c reciver/drier, also known as an accumulator. It's normal for it to drip when your a/c is on.
