Default hey there new here

Hey everyone as you can see im new. i Have a few questions. I had someone offer me a trade for my car its a 01 dodge neon. Its boosted but it has no internals so its not built its just a bolt on. Isnt it risky to trade for this since its boosted but not built? he said it has the t3/t4 turbo and a high flow fuel rail. I would be trading him a civic for it. It has 50,000 so any info to help me decied would be good. I rather not have to buy a new motor so if its gonna blow i dont wanna trade my fine working order car for it. Thanks in advance Calaeb the sooner i could get a answer the better
Heres the link to the car.

welcome to df, is this car auto or five speed? it is a srt turbo setup by the looks of it. what does ur car have done to it? is it stock, built? how many miles are on ur honda? what year is ur car?

if i were u i would go look at the car in person if it is close enough to do so, take a look at it. look for anything out of the ordanary, oil leaks, exhaust leaks, and also sounds like rod knock. depending on how the old driver drove the car it is very possilble that it is a good deal, do u have any idea how long the car has been boosted for?

all these questions will help us help u...

once again welcome

depends on what is wrong with it honestly on how hard it is to fix. look at kbb.com to see what urs is worth and see what his is worth, that will give u an idea stock for stock if the price is compatable...

also ask if the engine knocks or there is any problems with it? what is he running for a fuel system? just pump? or does he have bigger injectors also? (i do not see a return line set up in the pic) is he running a wideband 02 sensor? how much boost is he running? sorry for all the questions but it is just helping me help u...

Boost on a plastic intake manifold. I'd pass on that neon.

plastic intake is fine to run.... they hold fine for lower boost applications. i ran mine boosted for two years on a plastic intake, no problems, anyway does it have a fuel return line??? how is it tuned? what does he have to tune it? megasquirt? i am alittle concerned about no fuel return line honestly. unless he has a good tuner in the car.

the cable is not hard to fix, just some time tearing things down.
