Concerning the six speaers- There's only four wires that go to the head unit for the six speakers, the tweeters are run on the same wires as the front doors.
My head unit- I run a Pioneer Premiere DEH-P960MP, I would settle for nothing less. Also running an Alpine MRD-301 amp (completely digital), and 2 JL Audio 12w3's. Infinity Kappa's all the way around...

I got an aiwa head unit. it was cheap but works nice. bright blue,but can be dimmd.

 

I have a Kenwood head unit. It plays CD's, CD-R's, and MP3's. Not too expensive, but definately worth it.

 

Pioneer, Kenwood, or Clarion. The only brands to buy

 

I have an expensive Jensen w/ MP3. I'm not really satisfied. It broke on me once and I had to send it back. It's really sensitive w/ CD's.

 

actually...alot of reviews ive read say that Alpine have the best head units.....and i would have to agree....but i will settler for cheaper lol

 

ok now im lookin at a pioneer premier mp3 player pioneer is pretty dependable and yeah kenwood and alpine and clarion and even sony.

 

I have a Panasonic which i havent had any trouble with and i like. Its hooked up to a rockford fosgate amp, 2 rockford 10"s and 2 rockford 6x9s

 

this is my head unit.... and its awesome... got it mad cheap cuz it was the end of the year and pioneer was trying to get rid of all their old stock for their new line-up....

ehh sony is ok....but i would go with the premier....pioneer has some headunits that are POS's but the premier series that pioneer offers is top of the line!!!
