Question Neon Starts Moving while brakes are applied

Hi guys.

I have started noticing this problem with my 2001 Neon. When I apply brakes, I have to keep my foot firmly pressing the brakes or my car will start moving slowly.

I was wondering if this is just brakes or something else?

Thanks

You have your foot on the brakes firmly the entire time and it still starts going, or you stop and then have to keep your foot on the brake to keep it from moving?

It starts moving if I put my foot on the brake pedal casually, like I did before. Now I have to put extra pressure on the brake and keep my focus on this process or it will start moving slowly.

I'm not sure if this is about brakes or something else. My neon is not equip with tachometer (RPM meter) to see if the engine is trying to put extra pressure.

p.s. my neon is automatic.

Thanks for the reply!

sounds like to me that your torque converter is locked up or the car is idling too high.
