Need Advice On Buying Srt-4
Hi Im new to Neons. I've actually been looking around to buy one for awhile now. I found an srt-4 2005 today and test drove it. Everything was good except for the autometer turbo boost gauge which doesnt seem to be working at all. It just sits at 0. Is that a big problem? Can it be fixed at low expense? & also its all stock with 65000 miles on it a little under 9grand...good buy? I didnt hear no whistles which i usually hear with turbos in cars, which is probably the blow-off valve or sumthing, which it doesnt have, wondering if the turbo is ok in it? Im really an illiterate to this stuff at the moment so Im trying to sponge some knowledge. Any help would be much appreciated. thanks guys.

Okay does the gague sit at 0 when driving? or with the car off?, 65000 for 9gs isnt that bad. If its completely stock you wont hear the whistle of the turbo, only with a full 3 inch turbo back and no cat, I am running just one resonator and you can hear the whistle. If its a stock blow off only hear it when you shift, if it has the blue rice plate, then you'll hear it no matter what you do, even in reverse you'll hear it. If you get it, you'll love it, hopefully the person before you took good care of it, some people get in these and thrash them, but its not like they cant handle it. Its a whole new animal compared to a reg. neon if thats what you drive. Just take it slow and get a feel for it, it can get loose on you, and they responed very well to some mods. If you have questions feel free to pm me, I love mine
hah no I was driving a 99 corolla 120 hp, but not anymore! haha. Yeah it just sat at 0 when i was test driving it from the dealership. Get this the dude wasnt even there, i called him when i got there and he told me where the keys were and i took it out and brought it back after a spin and right when i brought it back i noticed the gauge wasnt flicking or anything so i took it for another run and still nothing. Cars in good shade, nice and black. All stock, I didnt hear any whistlen at all, but the car had lots of nice power and has alot of potiental.
