i wouldnt say pointless, sometimes people like the way the OEM unit fits in the dash. Or they dont want to spend extra cash for a head unit.

If tuning and HU votage is a big concern You could always get a bass processor

No thats stupid.. A 20in sub is ridiculous, i ended up getting 1 12' Alpine, and a PA amp, a box, and all the wires and stuff needed for $319.. I am done with it for now...

just grab them with your fingers and pull them off plus the two vents have to be pulled out and two srews at the top inside where the vents were then pull the face off.

 

Ya the vents were easy, the ***** didnt seem to want to be pulled off.

 

Last questions.. where is a common spot in the firewall for the amp power cord? and the Antenna, how do I conect that to a aftermarket reciever, it has a plastic surronding thing that is keeping it from going into the recievers hole..
