I get that a lot too (the people who want to race because of a massive wing). I hate having to lean across the seat to explain to them that it's a show car. Not a race car. So I just started tapping on my gps. It looks enough like a radar detector and they back off.

i would rather have a psssshhhhh, sound make people respect a car. when a mustang gt pulls up next to me and wants to try and i rev so the car blows off, and he then wants nothing to do with me, THAT is respect... not someone in a civic, or a geo metro that thinks i am fast because of the airplane wing on the trunk of my car.....

yes that is RESPECT. How is it "cool" to have a wing thats bigger than your car? Your car doesn't even go fast enough nor does it need that downforce on the rear tires. You want downforce stick a wing on your hood(joking). This is a neon not a early-mid 90s honda get rid of the huge wings and fart cannons and act like you drive a real car. I'm so glad no neons at my school have that crap or i would confront them and tell them to grow up.

Like I said. My car is for the looks. Sleek, sexy curves. And someone must agree with me. My car usually places in the top 3 at competitions.

Not gonna race in it though. Not with the stupid impound laws we have. If you're even suspected of street racing, the police will impound your car. They will crush it in to a cube (after stripping parts to sell on ebay) and tell you to get the cube out of their impound lot. That's all I need. Pull up to a red. Have a mustang rev up. Me respond in kind and the cop behind the over pass pulls out and tickets the both of us for street racing (First offense $5000, suspension of your license and 6 points). We both watch as the tow trucks arrive and haul our cars to Zalev's for cubification. Even if we get the offense over turned in court (big if) they will still have cubed our cars before we ever got out of the police station.

there is no need to race around my town.... most that have nice cars around here have hurd of my car, or know who i am.... yes i live in a small town, i am not that fastest car, but i am prolly one of the most respected... i take it to the strip.... racing on the street is just stupid. i just think of tall wings belong on honda civics with there stick on hood scoops that are not molded or functional, body kits not molded to the car, or not installed properly, unpainted body kits, fart cans, and stupid graphics....... keep those on the true rice burners........ and i am not dissing any hondas, accuras, exc.... because the true entusiest of this hobby have built some INSAIN hondas, acuras, exc....

The difference between the first car and the SRT in the second pic is the lambo doors, the SRT spoiler and the colour (In appearance). Pot calling out the kettle? Just a bit much.

But I still respect the performance crowd. They're just in a different competition than myself. What they've done wouldn't place in a show around here. Just like what I've done would be laughed at going down a track. Different strokes.

The only epic Fail so far in this thread is the closed minded attitude to another form of competition (And the use of the phrase "epic fail")

Oh, I probably would of left the front doors just the way they are and suicide the rear doors. Then shaved the handles. Not many are willing to dump that kind of money in a neon ($7500 Canadian to do it right). But that's why I show, not race.
