You can, but its better to make sure the fuel gets there. Running it lean is gonna be real bad. Better safe than sorry, those are the least expensive parts
I am gonna go with the Garrett T3 Super 60 turbo from thestreetsource.net and I was wondering what else I need to buy for peak performance and just so it will fit.
if i get a turbo for my neon how would i get it to pass smog, or is there a carb # for any of the turbos?
nope.
how to get it to pass? well, hope your inspection station doesnt care about the addition of a turbo.. and you only have to do the obd2 emissions test, and then you should pass with flying colors (so long as you dont have any codes stored of course, and the ecu presents all the "ready" codes to the obd2 machine too)
even if you do have the sniffer test as well, ive heard of others with turbo passing. just turn down the boost before you go, so it doesnt run TOO rich, and youll be fine so long as you have a catalytic converter.
The sniffer tests are easier to pass than a visual inspection, as long as they don't romp on the gas, the turbo will never kick in and will read just like stock.
