Desperate please help with skim module
Hey guys I really need help, last week some ****`s tired to steel my 2005 neon sxt, and they stole the radio but couldn’t steel the car because of the immobiliser. They broke of a piece of the key cylinder housing and I fixed it with some jbweld and a dremel tool (saved $400). They also damaged the skim module it was ripped at the bottom, so I soldered it together and sprayed an ill of electrical spray. When I went to the car it started for few seconds and died (tried both grey keys). Went to the garage, came back and now I cant even hear the starter crank when I turn the key. Battery is good; I can hear the fuel pump. I think it’s in lockdown mode idk what the hell to do. I have the aftermarket alarms system that was installed at the time of purchase and it has a bypass, but that’s no good because it only acts as a third key. Please any advice and help would be great.
It sounds like the skim module is not reading the key, check to see if the pcm has stored a
“P:1685 skim invalid key code” or “P:1686 no skim bus message received”. Was the skim housing damaged where it goes around the ignition switch as there is a pickup coil sensor in it. What exactly did you solder?
I am assuming that if you have a code “P:1685 skim invalid key code” that the skim module is working but not reading the key, possibly a pickup coil sensor. The “P:1686 no skim bus message received” would probably mean the skim module is not functioning at all.
If it's only the sensor that’s damaged. you may be able to swap the circuit board into another skim case and avoid having to reprogram everything.

Hey neisg1 thx for replying, i just went outside to check on it and my car is only throwing out code P0513. Also like a mentioned earlier my car still wont give me any kind of crank, i had the neg battery post off thinking that would reset the pcm , since i might be in lockdown.
