Default Hey Everybody

My girlfriend bought a 2000 neon recently and it's the highline base model.. A guy is parting out his 2004 neon, and im going to buy his wheels, front bumper and rear spoiler. He said i have to remove these parts however. Can anyone tell me the tools needed to remove these parts so I can take them with me? Also, im planning on getting his headlights, what all is involved to make the newer headlights work with her car? Anything else worth getting off of his car that the 2000s dont have?

Wheels - one of the four common lug size sockets will work, or a 4-way

Bumper - an assortment of sockets going from something like 8mm to 13mm, along with a T25? bit. Bring a set of those.

Spoiler - I'd imagine sockets again.

Headlights - Plug them in.

Really, a basic set of tools get you pretty far on these cars. Anything else? I like the 03+ taillights better, so you'd need those and the bumper. Other than that, the '04 probably has less stuff than your 2000. In 00-01, they started leaving all sorts of little extras off to reduce cost.

Well I knew i need sockets. Im glad to know i need some star bits. The reason i asked about the headlights was that the 2004 headlights have the turn signal inside the housing as the 2000's dont. So i know something else has to be done with them. So grab the taillights too? Ok. What about if his car has an upgraded stereo? Would it be worth grabbing and would it install in the 2000?

OK. The 00-02 have the headlights/front bumper and taillights/rear bumper combos. Each of those sets are needed to work properly. 00 bumper with 00 headlights. The 03+ have the same "combo's" if you will. Need the 03+ headlights to work with the 03+ front bumper. You only need the 03+ taillights if you plan on changing the rear bumper to an 03+ one. As for the turn signal, it really isn't that big of a deal. The bulb got moved into the housing. Solution = put the turn signal plug and bulb in the hole for it. People do the conversion all of the time. That is all I have ever heard that needs to be done. Just plug it in. As for the stereo, if you want an upgraded stereo, going with a factory one in most cases (some are very good IMO) is a step backwards. Pick up a new stereo unit and install kit, and a pair of 6" and 6"x9" speakers from someone like Pioneer and put those in. Much more worthwhile for not too much money. All I have ATM is a Pioneer unit with the factory speakers and it is working just fine for me.
