Question P0122 (TPS) Issue

I have A 2002 Dodge Neon Base/ES i've replaced the sensor over 6 times(after market/ Chrysler manufactured) , sent in the PCM twice to get reflashed and looked over, changed/fixed connectors/wires, tried putting aluminum foil over sensor for possible frequency interference. and nothing, still get the code P0122.

P.S. my Fiance's Father is A Mechanic, and i am working for him. so he has tried many things he knows but still nothing. And we thought about changing the engine coolant temperature, because when we put in the Chrysler made sensor, when it gets to max temp (195-200) it begins to act up. just a suggestion but not entirely sure thats the answer. Please help!

Does the TPS need to be aligned? Have you done that if so? No wires are grounding out or broken or anything?

  • TPS not mounted securely
  • TPS circuit short to ground or another wire
  • Faulty TPS
  • Damaged computer (PCM)

The TPS has been aligned correctly, have to stick it in kind of cockeyed to sit in right, we have not found or seen any broken/grounded out ground wires. i tried putting in an old sensor today, and now it seems to idle up and down every few seconds, not just a little but quite a bit, its done that in the past, but not this much.

Found The Problem, Near The Front Right Side The Wire Loom Wraps Around The Front Frame, And It Rubbed A Hole Into The Wire Meant For Throttle Positioning Sensor.
