Just wanted to share my fixes for these.Years back i had a fog light burn out, so no big deal,changed bulb and fine for about a couple of days then out again,turns out the fuse blew,again change fuse and good for few days and fuse again.Took the plastic cover off under the bumper cover and sure enough the harness to the lights had been rubbing enough to ground it out[moved the wires over as the bumper cover presses against it there].My lights,interior and exterior had been flickering for some time now and getting worse,my wife also told me a couple of times it starting abit slow so i bought a new battery but didn't install it yet.Last night i was driving it and the dome light came on and off,when i left my parents place the dome light was still on,got in and went off so driving home it started going on and off constantly[needless to say i was fuming by now]even the door open was showing on the dash randomly and the door lock was cycling.That was the longest 10 min ride home ever,so back in the carport the dome light stays on,i thought maybe the doorswitch was screwing up so i look around the doorjam for it.no switch what the? Anyway i decide to change the battery thinking it was low voltage related,and sure enough that was it! I also checked the connection at the fuse box and all was good.

 

The switch for the dome light is inside the door panel connected to the actual latch. It seems odd that the only thing affected by a "bad" battery would be the dome light...

 

Yeah I had to drive my wifes 02 about 60-65 miles one day several years ago with a stone dead battery. It was a fricken 3 ring circus of electrical anomalies on that drive home. When the cooling fan for the engine would cycle all hell broke loose! They really like 12 volts on tap at all times.

 

Flickering lights,cycling door locks,door open lit up in dash and the dome light was affected by the battery as mentioned in my original thread.So far so good
