Default Heater core leak

So it appears that my 03 neon sxt has a heater core leak. Started smelling coolant and i'm getting that fog on my windshield. The core itself isnt that bad, like $60 or so but i've been told that it is expensive to get replaced due to the time it takes to get to the actual core.

My question is, has anyone done this replacement themselves, and if so, how hard/time consuming was it? It looked easy enough....just means taking the dash to pieces....

I dont want to try to sell my car with it having this problem so it needs to be fixed. Any input would be helpful i'm sure. I have a week before I attempt to undertake this (wanted to wait for finals to be over)

I had my heater core go bad. I had a friend (mechanic) change it for me.

If you want to tackle taking the dash to pieces, it's up to you. Took me 3 days to get the car back...said it took him 1 1/2 days to get to it, and 1 1/2 days to get everything back together. I went over to check on it at day 1 1/2 and it was disturbing to see the dash so taken apart, even my whole steering column was out and in the corner of the garage.
