Smile New girl from Baltimore

Hi, I'm Jen. Owner of a Dodge 2000 Neon. Really haven't had any problems with my car (that weren't my fault!) until now. Windshield wipers won't turn off and it's driving me crazy!!! I figured someone on here could help me figure out what to do.

Welcome to the site! Since they work instead of the alternative, I'd lean towards it being a faulty multifunction switch at the moment. The switch is actually the entire unit/piece behind the steering wheel where the wiper switch, blinker switch, etc. are located.

What could cause this? Seems random?

The MFS seems to just go out at random. I'm not sure what causes it, but usually when something very odd like this starts and is controlled by that switch, it seems to be it. I'd venture to say dirty contacts, but that would generally cause them to either not work or work intermittently. Perhaps a contact or ground is somehow shorting causing them to run all the time? It's hard to say for sure without a bit more information, but it just seems to be another MFS going bad at random like the oil pressure sensors. At present, I think there is a fuse for the wipers that could be pulled to at least get them to stop moving.
