Default 2004 Neon Trans issue

Ok today I tried to start my car and I had to hold the ignition twisted for 10 sec before it would start which has never happened before. When it finally started I noticed my check engine light was on. I pulled out onto the main road and knew that my trans was not shifting because I was doing 40mph at 4000rpm. I am planning on taking the car in but I was hoping that someone has experience with this problem and could tell me if my trans is shot or if there is some magical fix to this.

I also just had a new stereo and a remote start installed in my car so if either of these could have played a part in this issue let me know.

Symptom:
P0513-INVALID SKIM KEY

When Monitored and Set Condition:
P0513-INVALID SKIM KEY

When Monitored: Ignition on.

Set Condition: The PCM detects an invalid SKIM key.

POSSIBLE CAUSES
INCORRECT VIN IN PCM
INVALID SKIM KEY NOT PRESENT
NO COMMUNICATION WITH SKIM
NO VIN PROGRAMMED IN THE PCM
PCM
SKIM TROUBLE CODES SET

--------------------------------------------------------

Symptom:
P0700-TRANSMISSION CONTROL SYSTEM/READ TRANSMISSION DTCS ON THE DRBIIIt

TEST ACTION APPLICABILITY
1 This is an informational DTC letting you know that a DTC(s) is stored in the Transmission Control Module. Erase this DTC from the PCM after all Transmission DTC(s) have been repaired.

--------------------------------------------------------

I'm thinking the remote start has something to do with the first one. As for the second, I'm not sure since you had no other codes? Maybe it has something to do with the first one (like some sort of safe mode which in turn is putting the transmission into limp-mode)? I'd take it back to where the remote start was installed and have them fix it. It sounds like it may have started from there. The last part about the transmission is most likely not correct, but my best guess at the moment since no other codes showed up. Get the first one fixed and see what happens.
