Wow it does look exactly like yours! And I'm glad to hear since we have the same car you've had no problems, makes me feel very positive about this purchase!

AMERICAN ALL THE WAY.

-All I do is do oil changes every 3k and I use either Pennzoil Platinum or Valvoline Syn-Power 5w20 with either Mopar or Wix filters. NAPA Gold filters are just re-badged Wix. While I use regular Fram air filters, I won't allow their oil filters near my car. For plugs I have NGK V-Powers in it. I haven't changed the tranny fluid/filter or serp. belt yet, but I'll get to that before we head South again. Congrats on your "new" car.

Congrats on the purchase! Very good price IMO. I wish I'd have known Dodge was going to go downhill. I paid about that much for mine with 73K all before Dodge had their problems.

Just a heads up too, the Neon engines are pretty darn easy on oil. PP can probably go about 7,500 miles pretty easily if you generally just drive "normal." I've been running it about 6,000 miles, but might bump up to like 8,000 and see what happens. Should even be good for a bit longer than that in my case. Nothing wrong with Fram filters BTW, there are just better filters for cheaper; just like there are better oils for cheaper than Mobil1. You are using one of them!

-I'll never use a Fram oil filter again after cutting one open. It was probably the cheapest looking filter I ever saw. No wonder my other cars had valve train noise that went away after switching to another brand of filter. C'mon, I mean cardboard ends and plastic springs? But on another note, I just picked up a 5 qt jug of Platinum and a Mopar filter for $28 at the local Wally World. Time to change it tomorrow after work. I might start changing every 5k now that we drive almost all highway mileage to work and back. Still old school though, so it's kind of hard to get use to the extended changes.

Well, if you think Fram is the only filter constructed that way, you better get cutting! lol.

I'm finally getting into the extended change deal with 6,000 miles on PP (was 3K before on Valvoline MaxLife). I drive about 400 miles highway per week now plus some so it should last even longer than 6K. This current OCI is my 3rd or 4th, can't remember now, with PP. Good stuff for the price indeed!

-Yep, I know about some of those other filters that are just rebadged Frams. I was driving about what you are now to work and back, but we finally moved closer to work since my Wife and I both now work in the same area. Now we cut it almost in half. Spending around $400 a month on gas was just getting ridiculous. What filters are you using? If I don't use a Mopar or Wix/NAPA Gold, I'll get a Purolator Pure1 sometimes. On another note, I have my eye on a couple '05 SXTs. One is electric blue with black rims and the other is black with the factory chrome 7 spoke rims. 58k and 65k respectively. Both are just under/over 7 grand. May see how long they sit then make an offer.

Matt

-Then again, there is THIS one! I can't believe it's in the same price range even if it does have 100k on it.

For the last 3 or 4 oil changes with PP, I've been using a Fram Xtended Guard. Between the Neon and my other cars, I usually use Motorcraft or SuperTech filters as well. I have used an Amsoil filter once and it will be replaced with a Purolator PureOne this next oil change on the Mustang. I love the E-Blue cars...I tried finding one but no dice. I also wanted a manual and that went out the window along with the color.
