Default Transmission Maybe???

O.K saturday i pulled the o2 sensor & did the "defouler trick" & also hollowed out the cat, drove it (no codes) then the o2 sensor codes pops up again as i'm driving it this morning and the front side is pulling to the left hard. then all of the sudden it pops into nuetral and when i stopped to put it back into gear it just makes a rattling sound as if the gear in the tranny are lose??? WTF! any ideas? prior to this i had no tranny issues (no sliiping or anything), thanks.

Got your PM.

Just to clarify, you put the O2 sensor back in, correct? Also, to point out, the defouler trick isn't a guaranteed "fix" by any means. You may need to add in the proper resistor. That should be a for-sure fix.

I'm not quite sure on your transmission issue, but it sounds like the left axle may have popped out of the transmission? Has any work been done to it lately, or any big bumps in the road or anything? I had that happen to me (the axle coming out of the transmission) in a different car and it did something similar. It popped out of gear and wouldn't go back into gear either. It did make some noise when that happened as well.

not sure what you mean by the proper resistor?? but i think you might have got the axle popped out it's at my mechanics shop right now, unfortunatley i had to tow it with my truck (alot of clanking sounds) so i hope i didn't screw it up any worse? can i just unplug the dam o2 sensor or will it read an error? I don't have emissions where i live, just visual??

The correct-type of resistor. The O2 sensor is needed to plug the hole either way, but yes, the computer needs the correct signal from it or your car will run...not well. Besides, if you have visual inspections and they look and it isn't there, then what?
