I'm new here so bear with me if this was in another thread and I missed it. Heading home from work the other night, the neon went to shift from 1st to 2nd gear and it felt as if I hit a brick wall, it didnt stop, but it lunged down. I get it home and figure I'd wait till morning to try and figure out whats wrong. The next morning I get up to take the kids to school, load them in the car, and it shifts fine, till we get to school. Heading home it acts up again, not shifting from 1st to 2nd. Also, I notice that the speedometer isnt working until i get to 35-40 mph. Now, this has me thinking its electrical, because when it does shift, it shifts nice and smooth. Any advice here would be appreciated, Thank You

 

How many miles do you have on it? The speedometer on mine started doing the same thing and i ended up having to replace the instrument panel. which BTW the dealer took 2 weeks to figure out.
