Default flipping Radio & Climate Controls

I recently bought an '05 SXT from My older brother in TX. More recently I installed a Kenwood Headunit. now, because of how low the unit sits in the dash, i am loosing the top bit of the display from my vantage point in the driver's seat.

what i was wondering was if anyone had attempted to flip the positions of the climate controls, and the radio. I know i would have to modify the colored plastic trim ring thing that covers the whole center stack., cut bits out, glue them back in, etc. and I've never really worked with fiberglass, or anything more complex than model airplane glue.

just kinda looking for some feedback, from any folks more ambitious than I , or just folks not afraid to use their cars as guinea pigs.

thanks in advance

I have the same problem. I sit up so high (tall), I'm almost looking straight down at it. I live with it. Much easier than tearing apart and fabricating a whole new center dash.
