Default RTV curing time before trans fluid fill???

I just finished installing the trans pan with the recommended RTV sealant and the directions on the RTV tube say that it dries within one hour but that it is completely cured in 24 hours.

So I am wondering how soon I should add the trans fluid. Should I wait 24 hours? I left the trans drain overnight so that there wasn't any fluid left driping onto the mating surfaces and I torqued the bolts in three steps up to the recommended torque.

Any help would be appreciated.

I let mine sit for about 3-4 hours. No leaks.

3-4 hours should be fine. If you don't need to drive it immediately then I'd let it cure over night.

Default Overnight it was

It so happened that I did not have to drive the car so I let it cure overnight. I filled it this afternoon, checked for leaks, drove it some, checked for leaks again, added some fluid, drove it some more, checked for leaks...

Anyway-it went well and I am happy to report -NO LEAKS ! I sure did not want to pull the pan and have to reseal it again.

Thanks for the responses.

The dealership told me that once the pan was on and tightened properly, you could fill it up and be on your way. It's good to know that they can know what they are talking about at times.
