Stock stereo in 2000 Neon
Hey.
It's my first time posting in this forum, but then again, I didn't own a Dodge till last Monday...
So I just picked up this 2000 Dodge (Chrysler it says) Neon. One thing I notice about the factory stereo in it, it seems to play my CDs at different volumes, especially when you crank it up.
Burned cds, store cds, it does it to some but not others. Right in the middle of the song, the volume will go noticeably quieter, than about 5 seconds later, crank back up to where it was. It goes thru this cycle every20-30 seconds on some cds, doesn't do it at all on others. I'm looking thru the manual to see if there's a way to fix it.
Has anyone else come upon this? Is it just a flaw in these stereos? A friend of mine has a 2001 Dodge Neon R/T, and his changer doesn't do the volume thing, but is very picky about which cds it plays. If there is even the slightest scratch, it won't play. Anyone else know anything about this, or more importantly, how to fix it?
thanx

sounds like it wouldnt be worth it to fix it, unless you really know what your doing. most stock head units arent that great with sctratched cds and stuff. id say look for a new one, theyr really not that expensive. I just picked up a jensen for 90 bucks and it sounds really good.
