Default 02 Sxt 2.0 head Replacement? SOO CONFUSED

OK im always on here answering questions and helping with problems and i really Need help desperately.

2.0 16valve 122ci. motor.

155xxx miles

My valves are making alot of noise and tapping really loud. It only seems to do it when its idling down. I took it into a repair shop to have it looked at (MY FIRST TIME EVER GOING TO A GARAGE) He said i will give you a oil change and add some lucas and get it to stop.

I love lucas and i also swear by it.

He put in 10w40 and Lucas and now its louder then ever. Im going to replace it since its skrewed up. Im going to either buy refurbished. Or get a used on and rebuild it. My problem is i dont know what all years i can use the heads from and what they are universal with.

Any ideas on doing this and what do i have to expect and look forward to???

All advice will be appreciated

Tapping really loud is more likely the lifters. I believe there is a national notice about the lifters going bad. No need to replace the head if that's the case.. just pop off the valve cover, slide out the cam and figure out which ones need replaced. Buy them all if you want to get preventative about it. Just my .02

Thought valves tapped and lifters ticked? Thicker oil with an unnecessary additive wouldn't help at all IMO, as seems to be the case. Anyways, just get a 2.0L 2gn head? Are they hard to find where you are at? Any would probably work as they are all the same engine.

Valves do tap. if i just go to replace the valves am i going to have to take the head to a machine shop to have valve ports redone? and what all has to be done when i remove the head. I havent really looked into it with a neon. Like what all needs replaced. Timing belt? Deffinately new head gasket ect...

I read a TSB on this noise, it's the cam oil feeds, they have to be chamfered.
