Default Boost gauge in SXT

Just wondering about this idea....is it possible to install a srt4 boost gauge in an 04 SXT Neon, totally stock? Will it work, even though there's no boost? Is it crazy or what? Just for the cool looks of it.

You have to have boost for a boost gauge to work. Though, you could get a boost/vac gauge and use it for vacuum, or get whatever 2 1/16" gauge you wanted and use that. With all of that being said, you can install the gauge pod and the gauge, though you will need a Dremel to cut your dash pad in a certain spot.......or buy an SRT4 dash pad.

1st, why do you ask?... it says all over yer post and in yer name that you have an SRT-4 with a bunch of mods ?!?

Second, I was thinkin about this, just for looks... it would basically be just a vacuum gauge... I have a boost gauge layin around and what I believe it would do, is, ...since they needle sits at '0' ..if you don't have boost, it would just read down the scale, going left of 0, instead of climbing up the scale

And the other thing mentioned above, the SXT and even the SE dashes on the 03 and up models, actually have a boost gauge mount already there...you just have to take out the dash and cut an opening right there where you see the boost gauge on an SRT-4

Didn't notice that, but I'm curious now. Maybe he got another?

That's what I was talking about; I just didn't go into details. It's just one of those measure twice, cut once things. I mentioned buying an SRT4 one if you were to worried about messing it up. Then, it would just be a plug-and-play.

I do own a 04 srt4 and a stock 04 sxt neon. I'm always modding the stock, just a thought I had in mind...nothing serious. Thanks for recommending the vacuum, maybe i'll go in that direction. Thanks for the feedback.

If you have both, you should be able to take the pad off of the SRT4 and see pretty much exactly what you need to do.
