Hey all, my brother has a 2005 Neon SXT that has been wonderful to him, however tonight we hit a snag and I was wondering if anyone else has had the same problem we ran into. We had been driving around, not too hard or anything, we parked it, it sat for about 2 hours, and then we went to leave. We were going up a hill and it didn't wanna downshift, and then the check engine light came on. We freaked out, stopped and checked fluids, everything was fine. We hit the highway and noticed it seemed to be stuck in second gear. We were going about 35-40 MPH and the engine was wrapping at about 3500-4000 RPM. We parked it and got another ride home. We haven't ran the codes yet, but I was just wondering if anyone else has had this issue. We hope its just a bad sensor....

 

The transmission will stay in second gear if it goes into the limp-home mode. Obviously some sort of transmission problem if that happened.
