Does anyone else have this problem?
I have a problem where my front rotors get beat to hell on the inside surface - they get all heat checked and get hards spots. They are fine on the outside because my kosei's let quite a bit of air flow through them. I was thinking about trying some tougher rotors or routing a little bit of ducting up there, neither of which I think will work cus there isnt alot of room on the backside to flow any air and I think no matter how good the rotors are they are still gonna heated unevenly. I dunno? Any suggestions...
I had a similer problem. But my pads were ****ty they wore out on the inside and grinded the rotor bad. it was only on one side. I bought better pads and new rotors so they should be better. I also ran into this kid with an srt that was on the side of the road. I stoped to see if he needed help and he told me his breaks locked up. I told him they mught of got to hot. he had cross drilled rotors on also. he brought it to the dodge dealer and they told him the same thing. Good luck though.
hmm I dont have cross-drilled rotors - they are stock dodge parts - I do have hawk HP street pads, there is no doubt in my mind that the problem is heat, just how to eliminate it is what I am after.
Hmm cant help ya but from the looks of your aviator it seems like you beat the car pretty nice lol. haha The only thing i can think of is gettin rims other then the stock ones that let little air in to cool it.
Yeah haha I give her a good workout every weekend - much like my ex-gf - never can quite handle what I can dish out [:-] - but yeah I dont use my stock wheels on the road - I have kosei k1's which are fairly open and provide good airflow to the outside of the rotor - I think I'm gonna try some different rotors when I get around to replacing them - thx anyway.
