rear strut bar
I got my RE works(APC) rear strut bar for my 03 neon, but that **** isn't going on right. It seems the holes where end of the bar go on the stru dont line up.just the far back ones. I tried assembling it all seperately by putting the ends on then attaching the bar, and it almost worked, but i8 couldn't get the 4th locking bolt in. Im thinking of drilling a hole in the closest to the seats bigger to fit the strut bar in and tightening it, what do you guys think or should i try something else.
If you really want to stiffen up your Neon, I highly recommend the DC Sport CS-2 rear strut tower brace. It is the most solid and rigid one you will find and it fits like a glove, I have it on my SRT-4 and it makes a difference. The only down side is that it's a bit pricey at around $90 shipped to your door. This is also the best one for the front as well, but I don't like it for the SRT-4 up front since it blocks most of the cool air from the hood scoop getting to the turbo. I went with a smaller front brace that doesn't obstruct the air from the hood scoop. Here is a link to it: http://www.modernperformance.com/dcx...bar_rear.shtml They list it for the SRT-4, but it will fit since it's a Neon (it will fit the '03-up Neon's), you will just need to call them to make sure it will fit your year. Here is a couple pictures of mine:
