ye so my top end sounds frekkin horrible on my 200 neon. at idle u dont even hear the exaust, just tick tick tick. at normal dring speeds i cant hear it but it is really bad at idle, any sudgestions on how to quiet down, maybe evn fix this problem. i am wondering if i could adjust my valves, is that possible?

First off its worse at idle cus the lash adjusters are hydraulic and therefore rely on engine oil pressure, which is lowest at idle - there isnt any mechanical adjustement - the only thing you can do is replace the rocker(s) that are noisy - The question I would ask myself is how did they get noisy? Do you not change your oil very often? or run the car with very little oil in between changes? Is it possible that your engine oil pressure is lower than it should be to begin with - not a good thing!!! Ask yourself and investigate all these problems before you go slapping some new parts in there and have it do the same thing the week after cus I can guarantee you those rockers are not cheap...and I have never heard of any being a problem on the 2g's although I also don't really know too many people who have em....check your oil pressure first and make sure that is in spec - it should be at least 4 psi at idle and in between 25 and 80 psi at 3000 rpm although I would be suspicious if this is on the low end of the spectrum - of course all this does not tell you if there some piece of **** or sludge in one of the galleries running to the rockers causing less oil to makes it way there than should. Check the lash for ****s and giggles too - should be 0.046" on the intakes and 0.050" on the exhaust - cold and dry, actually they dont say cold, but im assuming....specs are from the factory service manual although dont tell anyone or DC will come and arrest me...jk....good luck....
