I have a 2005 Neon SXT which started intermittently not starting, no crank, no click, and no fuel pump. Now it won't start at all. Only light on is the small red LED security light which stays on constant(does not blink), that's it. Replaced ignition switch because it was cheap, did not fix. I can jump at the relay box and crank starter and make fuel pump run, so those parts are good. Checked wiring for damage and nothing found yet. Have checked fuses and relays also, all good. DRB says that it is accepting pass key and no real numbered codes, just something that said "PCM signal failure." Was hoping that someone has had similar experience and could point me in the right direction?

 

Same car, same problem! I have replaced battery, alternator/belt (which was bad) and even the SKIM and it has started a couple of times after each, but now nothing! No crank at all, but that stupid red light comes on and stays on. Called the dealer to find out if maybe keys are bad and if there is a way to test it, but of course, will have to take it there for diagnostics and am trying to avoid that, but told it sounds like a wiring issue, which is probably right. Grrr, very frustrating. I've read some things about maybe the PCM and connections...if anyone has any knowledge/ideas, I would be grateful to hear them!

 

Since you have the DRB, is there a test for the PCM to make sure it isn't bad? I'm sure there is...
