My neon starts when it wants. Ive had this problem for about 2 years not but I always figured it was simply because the steering doesnt lock so I would pop the car in neutral and it would turn over and start. But now it has decited not to turn over when it feels like it. When I turn the key I get power to everything (radio, lights, air ect) but it wont turn over, you can hear the fuel pump (I think) engage but thats it. I have checked the battery.. its good, and I have replaced the starter.. which was also tested good (but the mechanic said the pin was moving slow). And it started up great.. I drove about 7 miles turned it off at home and went to restart it and nope.. nothing. Has anyone had this problem? ANd what was the fix?
I am definatly not a mechanic just a military spouce who needs a reliable car to get my kids to school and back each day.
