How do i reset the computer on a 01 Neon R/T and what are the effects of doing this? Thanks!

 

Simple like every one suggest just unplug the battery from the system and either let it sit for a while or you can short the termnal to drain the capacitors. If ya got a scan tool you can reset everything there too. Conciquences of the a complete reset is that all learned habits are gone. Not normally a problem unless you car has some issues that it learned over time. Such as you injectors run rich and you have a small undiagnosed vacuum leak etc. This can cause you car to run like crap for a while, while it figures out what the heck is up. If no mechanical problems exist, the happy motoring and it will learn all over like it was new.
