I've got a '03 2.0L SOHC with a 4 speed A/T. I changed the fluid and filter in my car the other day, got in it and took it down the road. I was really gentile with it, it shifted up through the gears and cruised fine. when i slowed down to stop i felt the trans slam at about 25 - 30 MPH. I took off again and at the next stop it did the same thing at the same speed. Everything else seems fine, no slipping, it moves between gears fine on the way up, no noises....except the bang on the way down.

any ideas would be apreciated. Otherwise ill be putting a 5speed in sooner than i thought.

Yeah its a neon thing my auto does the same thing ever since I got her brand new back in 04.

 

alrighty. it seems like its gettin better, but i think im gunna keep lookin for a donor trans... just in case.
