Default 03 sxt

just noticed that when in park and when I depress the power window switch the engine rpms go down. Not to the point of stalling but can be noticed. Would this be a problem with the alternator? If i depress both switches at the same time the idle goes down even further. I know it is putting a load on the engine but should it be doing something like that? the battery reads about 14.7 volts without the load when idling. I did not try when the switches are engaged.

You can take your alternator to autozone and they can check it for free. Mine was doing the same thing with other problems and it was fried when checked at autozone.

Thank you I think I will be changing the alternator. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what type or amperage? Are all 2nd generation alternators the same? Will any year fit or are they year specific? thanks for your quick responses.

All non-SRT 2gn ones are the same as far as I know. Hell, I've got an extra one laying around somewhere...
