hi, i have a K&N filter in my car, i put it in maybe 400 KM on my car, now my car has 8500, should i check it anytime soon?

 

Usually performance air filters like K&N or Apexi last for very long times because of there advance filter technologies, and usually when they get dirty enough or you feel the car is not running like it did when it was new then just take it out and clean it, for K&N you can use the recharger kit. My cold air filter lasted 2 years before i cleaned it, but ended up buying a apexi filter because it was on sale at some dealership.

 

Clean it about once a year for best results. (Unless you get it filthy from mudd or something)

 

K&N usually redommends 50,000 miles before it needs cleaning. But it all depends on your conditions. If it is really dusty and all, probably around 25 to 30,000 miles. BUt when I had my truck I would clean it once a year, just because I felt like it. which I was driving about 15,000 miles a year.

 

I cleaned my K&N just a bit ago. I just watched dirt and bugs pour out of it. That was after maybe 15,000 miles. It looks and performs good as new now.
