Default 05 Neon SXT Drone at speed

Hi,
I am new to the forum. My 05 Neon has a drone/Hum consistent with front wheel speed. I suspect the hub bearing(s) but don't want to start throwing parts at the problem with out getting a little more info. Anyone have any ideas? Appreciate any advice
Thanks
Bill

without hearing it for ourselves we have to take your word on it. at speed if you shut down the motor and coast do you still hear it?
if so wheel bearing would be about right

Does it get louder as you go faster?

-Or does it also increase or decrease in sound when turning either way? If it's a front wheel bearing, that will tell you which side is going out. If it gets louder while turning to the left, then the right wheel bearing is the one dying. Vice-versa for turning right. If it doesn't change at all, it could also be something like a tire problem. Unevenly worn tread, broken belt, etc...

Matt

Lift the front end of the car and support it with jack stands so that the front wheels are NOT touching the ground. Take a stethoscope if you have one or a screwdriver and put it on the wheel hub as someone puts the car in drive and spins the wheels at about 20mph.
