My first question as a newbe is what mods can i do to not void the warrenty?
I am waiting on my 05 SXT with the SRT design package. I just ordered it yesterday.
I want to get these items as a start...

CAI
Cat back exhaust
header
short shifter
aluminum throttle body
MSD coil
MSD wires
and eventually a SRT4 turbo kit

some of the parts i don't ever know if they make for a 05 so help with that would be great as well.

 

I dont get why u ordered a neon sxt with srt-4 package if you going to srt-4 turbo charge it? Why didn't you just get an srt-4? Turbocharging an sxt is only possible with chill factory turbo. You cant really turbocharge and sxt with an srt-4 turbo kit. They are different engines, 2.0 to 2.4 sohc to dohc.

 

I ordered one because i got a good deal on a SXT and i could turbo it for less than the price of a SRT-4. out the door for 12,000 for a 05. then what about 3,000 fir the turbo kit? still under the SRT4 price.

 

You'll spend more then 3 grand. If you know what you're doing and have lots of help you can probably turbo yours for less then the cost of an SRT4.

 

If you are thinkin about getting the turbo ...i think the intercooled chillfactory kit is like $3,500 and i would definently have a professional or someone with a lot of experience install it for you. Also, be sure to get it tuned on a dyno.

 

Yeah it does start somewhere around that price, but expect to replace internals if you plan to jack the boost up. So thats another 500-1000 dollars. I'd say plan on spending 3-5k to do it minimum.

The turbo will most definatly void the warranty

 

aluminum TB will void the warranty, "Tampering with the fuel system"
Header will void the warranty, & emissions warranty, "tampering or modifying emissions components."

Coil may void warranty, if you have any electrical problems


Don't expect the dealer to ever touch your car again if you install a aftermarket turbo.

&, the SRT-SXT comes with a high flow dual outlet muffler, why mess with it?

If the dealer can prove that any of the mods you made caused the problem that you are bringing it to the dealer for then the warenty on those parts will be voided.
