im looking at a 2003 neon sxt on tuesday, it has 71k original miles, its the 5spd. it also has the rear spoiler, and brand new tires and rims. what are things to look at when i go see it?

Make sure you check the motor mounts, both outer tie-rods, sway bar bushings, rear struts. Do a general steering/susp check.

 

Lower control arm bushings

 

ok ill check all that stuff out, ive been looking through alot of neon forums and im gunna do a very detailed inspection of this car. thanks for the help guys, how about the mechanical stuff, like the engine, tranny and clutch, are there any common weak links to check out? other than the timing belt/ water pump, im just gunna change those right away so i dont have to worry about it.

 

Listen/look for the basics. Nothing really specific to look for unless it is making some odd noise or the oil smells burnt and so on. I changed all fluids and so on right after I bought mine.
