i noticed that there is a piece of my ps pump pulley missing, i got a new pulley, but how on earth do i get the old one off? does it just slide off some how?
According to my Haines manual you will need a pulley puller to remove old one and another type to install the new pulley. It says never try to hammer on the new one as it will damage the pump. You can sometimes rent these pullers from some parts stores or buy for around $30 to $50 each. It might be cheeper to just go to a U pull it for a whole pump with a good pulley.
yah i rented on from advance auto, i got it on, took me about 2 hrs, i tried to do it without removing the pump ( waste of time) but i got it on, and it works great!
Way to go you probably saved yourself some serious bucks. Now call a repair shop to see what they would have charged you to see just how much you saved and spend that on something else for your car.
