i installed my intake and now it makes a high pitch whistling noise when i drive and dont hit the gas hard?? what do u think is the problem???

 

o that i guess its normal cuz mine does it all the time, doesnt seem to make a difference in performance, Im thinking it has to do w/ the egr tube leading into the intake throttle body that kinda turns it into a giant whistle...lol

 

Yeah, my AEM cai makes a whistle too, Its just the air gettin sucked in and through. Nothin to worry about.

 

Actualy both of you installed it incorectly. I had the same exact problem. You jamed the intake tube too far into your throttle body. Untighten it and pull it out a bit and tighten it back up. It will fix your problem.

 

My car has been whistling from the day I installed my ghetto CAI. 0 problems whatsoever, if it wasn't whistling I would think something is wrong.

 

alrite ill go with the popular vote...i was just worried that if i was driving casually down the street that my car would explode....

 

that whistling noise is not the intake the intake makes a loud deep huming sound. like mines i installed one and i thought it was the intake to but its that hose that is connected to the intake from the valve cover. you will see in your factory intake box its a foam cushion where that hose connect it dampens the sound.

 

i uninstalled it from my car because the whislting was to anoying for me

 

The hose goes into the breather valve... I doubt thats where the noise comes from. Even with my air filter off when i gas the car is still makes the ssssssssst sound out of the throttel body.

 

I'm getting the same sound from my '05 Neon sxt, and it's bone stock!
I don't have an CAI or nothing.
