Question security system light

My fiance just bought a 2000 neon. It is 5 speed, but the instrument panel did not have a tachometer. she isnt the hottest yet at driving stick and wanted a tachometer. I had a instrument cluster out of a 2000 neon that i had junked which had a functional tach in it. I swapped instrument clusters today, and now there is a little red dot that lights up and stays on steady. After a bit of looking around on google it says this is a security light? Can someone please tell me more about this and is there any way to get rid of it?

Does the car you put it into have the sentry system (gray key) or just a plain black key? The only thing I can think of based on the info so far is that the old car had the security system and the new one doesn't so the light is on.

The solution then is to remove the LED, if it is removable. Can't remember if that one is or not.

No, check both of the fuses for the airbag.
