Correct. I am not the greatest mechanic but i know enough...and then some to get me into trouble. I have no clue where the battery temp sensor is at. I ran a charging system test today on it and everything came back clear. the light still being on while i was doing the test. im thinking i have a bad wire somewhere thats kicking the light on. any ideas?

It's a little black plastic sensor that'll be on the black mat that covers the battery, if you have a mat. The PCM takes the battery temperature and determines at what rate the alternator should be charging the battery. Stupid? Yes; thank Dodge for that treasure of an idea. Supposedly, the battery will not charge correctly if that sensor isn't hooked up, not working or missing.
If you don't have the mat, there is a sensor somewhere else. I'll have to look around for it if you don't have the above one.
