Default Just got a diagnostic, can I get info/tips?

Hey guys, just got home from the shop where they did a good once-over on the SXT. Here's what they came out with:

Lower Ball Joints - $116.50 + $74.16 (labor)
Front lower control arm bushings - $31.96
Rear lower control arm bushings - $73.54 + $333.72 (labor front&rear)

Alignment (apparently necessary when they take apart the whole damn shock system ) - $65.00

Total from page one: Parts: $222 - Labor: $472.88 - (+tax) - Total: $710.09
---

Front struts: $185.58
Rear struts: $195.22
Labor (remove$replace struts, spring and/or top mount install, alignment [again? probably just missed it being on twice]: $658.28

Total from page two: Parts: $380.80 - Labor: $658.28 - (+tax) - Total: $1,065.17 - subtract 1 alignment -REAL Total: $1,000.17

---

Apparently the last guy that did an oil change stripped the pan threads, so I need a new pan

Oil pan: $95.70
Gasket: $32.46
Filter: $2.00
Oil: $9.95

Labor for the above listed annoyance: $194.67

Total from page three: Parts: $140.11 - Labor: $194.67 - (+tax) - $344.38
---

Total ****storm: about $2,054.00... I only paid $3,300 for the car. FML. HELP?!

if you get an oil pan from a part store then it should come with a gasket and doing it yourself will kill the labor on that one. i did the pan in my car for the cost of a pan $75 and an oil change $18 which came out to be $93.

I have replaced almost all of the above parts, except the oil pan front struts and lower ball joints.

I saved myself a bunch of money by doing it myself, but yes those parts are commonly worn out on these cars.

Thanks guys. yeah im confident i can do the pan on my own, at the very least i'll screw up the gasket, and i have fresh oil so i can probably just use that, yeah?

I dont know if im capable of the shocks work though, i'll have to take a look at some manuals and walkthroughs on that...

I hope it is just the gas cap that was lighting my CEL. the code was emish.control sys small leak. The rubber mighta gone bad on it. its gonna suck if thats a leak in the lines.

I get a code for a small leak every once in a while. I usually just ignore it and wait till it gets colder out.
