Default '02 Vibrating/Grinding

Hey guys,
New development the past few days. When I first start up my car in the morning and go to back out of my driveway, I hear a dull vibration/grinding noise coming from the front end (possibly driver side). This only happens in reverse and only after the car sits, but not every time...seems random. In drive it's normal, and after a min of running, it's fine in drive and reverse. Any ideas?

could it possibly be your rotors "flash rusting"?

Your brake pads/shoes aren't worn down and are in good shape; same for the rotors/drums?

Brakes pads and rotors replaced 3 weeks ago, drums redone about a year ago. It doesn't sound like a brake problem to me...feels different than that and no noise either. To clarify too, this is happening when I'm giving it gas in reverse. Wonder if it could be a temperature related thing cuz it only happens after sitting a while (like overnight or through work) then goes away as soon as I drive off.

Probably not temperature related, work and home are probably the only times you put the car into reverse on a normal day.

Does the sound seem like it's coming from the wheel area or the engine area? Which side?

I'd say engine area, driver side. I talked to a friend at work about it and he thinks the CV joint may be on it's way out. I'll just have to keep an eye on it since it doesn't happen much it could be tough to diagnose.
*I actually tried reversing a few times to see if that's the problem, but it doesn't happen after the first time I reverse.
