Default Need help!

I'll get right to it..
I need to install a new tensioner on my Neon.
I was wondering if anyone knows of any way of removing the old one and installing a new one without having to unmount and lift my engine up to do so.
Any ideas and/or responses will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

I assume your talking about the timing belt tensioner. I don't think so. From what I remember you have to jack the engine up so you can access the timing belt cover bolts, and you have to jack it up quite a bit too. When I helped my dad change his timing belt I remember worrying about how much we had to jack it up, but it was fine.
Don't worry about it. It's just the torque struts you have to take off to get to the timing belt stuff, not hard at all.
If you haven't changed your timing belt yet and you're getting close to or above 100k miles, you'd do good to replace that and the water pump while you're in there, it'll save you a lot of time in the future.
Just be careful around the timing belt cover, I've heard that they're easy to crack.
Hope this helps.

The accessory belt tensioner? You can just replace the tensioner assembly (you can replace just the pulley); you have to replace the entire engine mounting plate which includes...unmounting and lifting the engine.

Its the power steering belt. the wheel on the tensioner ceased up and just blew the belt apart, so no power steering. And i think i have changed the timing belt before already actually.. not sure though. Another thing is, i'm kind of afraid to even loosen the bolts that are mounting my engine. They either wont turn at all (like my oil pan) or they'll just break off in the process of trying to get them out. Not sure what to do...

Thank you though for your response, man, I do appreciate it.

Let me know if you have anything else for me that may help. I need all the info. i can get.

timing belt is quite a substantial job I'd think you'd remember doing it

the bolts for the mounts are a bit more beefy than oil pan bolts, Although they may be a B*tch to crack loose , i dont think you'll be breaking them Herc.

as stated before if your going as deep as the timing belt, change the water pump too.
