exhaust size?

I hve an 02 neon sxt and I know its 2 1/4". but is that inside or outside diameter? I already called the parts desk at my local dealer and they dont know. thanks alot.

Usually, exhaust measurements are given in I.D. You can grab a tape measure or a slide caliper and check.
