So my buddy has a 03 neon manual and when he is cruiseing at slower speeds in lower rpm the car kinda surges with power, almost like he was slightly feathering the gas peddle but hes not, just woundering if this could be his fuel filter causeing this or somthing else, any advice would be apreciated.

 

Any vacuum leaks?

 

dont think so, but he will be comming over today so ill spray some carb cleaner while its running and see what happens and let you know, this is the same guy that put the dirty gas in his tank, thats why i was woundering if it could be a clogged fuel filter.

 

Usually loss of fuel will cause a loss of power though; not a surge.
