Default Replacing ignition coil+plugs?

I just purchased ACCEL ignition coil and Pulstar performance plugs for my car. Was this a good performance upgrade? I love working on my car i figured this would be a nice little project. I would like to know if its going to be a mistake doing that or what? How difficult will this be? Nothings wrong with the car, but i figured it would help the car a bit.

Tips or advice is much appriciated!
Thanks!

Same here, I got Granatelli ignition coil pack, and the Granatelli spark plug wires, I also picked up some copper champion spark plugs, (since I had changed them to which ever is the next one on the list) I'll be doing this all in a few days when the stuff gets here, I have a 2005 Sxt neon. I kinda have the same question, I figured since my car has almost 90k miles I would do this to "help" it just run better and last longer, (its a good car, put up with alot, figured I'd run it into the ground before buying new car) I'm a Truck Driver so speeding is not my thing, I just want to drive something that runs good.

I think you spent way too much money on two parts that aren't going to do anything extra, but they shouldn't hurt anything.

Yeah im hoping mine will be here before the weekend, give me something to do to my car. But how was it spending too much money, a little over $100 for coils, plugs and wires isnt too much when buying performance parts and giving it a little extra life and charge.

Performance doesn't equal life. If that were true, those 2,000HP alcohol cars would last forever. Performance parts also tend to wear out faster than OE. Those parts just really aren't going to do anything more on a 2.0L engine than the less expensive OE replacement parts would. I suppose you got a decent deal on everything though as OE replacement coils are usually $70-$90 alone.

Well in my case, this car was my sisters, my dad bought it new, I now use it as my daily driver since my sister left the house, hardly use My truck and this car works fine and gives better MPG than the 4.7L V8 in my Ram, the neon has 90k miles and has never had the spark plugs changed, so I figured I'd just change them to better ones, the coil pack I got to just replace the six year old stock one, I got all this for about 110, now the main thing I need/want to do is get better motor mounts or buy the inserts for them, IV changed them out once and I'm sure the bottom one is shot by now, not too sure if i want to go with the solid ones yet, and since the car is about to hit 90k I'm planning on getting the timing belt done and maybe get under drive pullys installed at the same time and Maybe replace the trans motor mount...... like I said I'm not into making this car go fast, just want it to drive nicer and take some load of the engine.

I got a good deal on everything, it was all on sale. The sparkplugs were only a little less than the coil, the coil was 20% off. But everything else was 10% so i just got the whole bundle. I'll eventually replace more things as the car gets more miles. I plan on keeping it for a few years since im just outta highschool and have college now, i need to avoid something going wrong as much as possible with full time job and college lol..

If you can't find everything on sale next time around, OE replacement parts will work fine. Nice find though! I just graduated from college in May and have worked FT the entire time as well...I know the feeling, lol.

Update, today I drove 21 miles to a house I'm taking care of, (we breed birds, and this is a friends house that also breeds many birds), I got there and then had to go pick up some fruit, I switched out the old spark plug wires to the newer very low OHMs wires, wow what a difference in the engine, smoother, purrs again, doesn't lose RPMs after shifts up or down, faster smoother acceleration. Really made a big change, now tomorrow I'll be changing out the coil pack, then installing the new 'recommended copper spark plugs' then we'll see how she runs after that.
