i have this 2002 dodge neon that when you barely oush or step on the gas the car does not go the speed that its supposed to. Like if i were to punch the gas all the way it would just go like 5 mph then start rising very slowly.. Doe any one know what would be the problem.

Is your CEL ( check engine light ) coming on?

Whats your fuel pressure?

I assume that the car is firing on all cylinders and this is throttle response related.

Is this an ATX or MTX?

There are quite a few possible causes and your symptoms are vague, like as in are the rpms going up and your still only gradually gaining speed.

If not it sounds like TPS, MAP, or possibly a fuel pump. More inclined to blame Throttle Position Sensor based on info you offered.

Go to autozone and have them scan your car and give you the code so you can post it here, that should help out a bit.
