Default Door Lock latch/actuator

I think my power door lock actuators are shot, I want to call the junk yards tomorrow to get some used ones.

What i need to know is does each door have its own actuator and should i replace all 4 of them?

It seems the screeching noise is coming from the front doors.
2000 Neon

Thanks
Rich

You answered your own question. If each door didn't have it's own, you wouldn't have to replace 4 if they were all bad.

Yes, every door on any car with power anything has it's own motor/switch/actuator. Each window on a car with power windows has it's own motor. Same idea applies.

Thanks for the info.... guess I knew the answer, just needed someone to confirm it for me.

It seems the rear door locks are working but the fronts aren't.... so looks like I will see about getting them replaced tomorrow.

Thanks again.

Have you bypassed the switches with leads ("jump" the actuators) to make sure it's not a switch problem?

I'm not sure how to do that.
From all i have read the way they are acting and the screeching noise they are making points to the actuators being bad.
