Default Siliconed taillights and still have a wet trunk

Hey guys,

I originally was on here about a 2002 sxt automatic that I had just brought to Ohio from Texas. Wasn't shifting right. Lot of codes. etc.. . Was told to replace the shift solenoid. Turned out to be the Throttle position sensor. Shifts great now Just need motor mounts.

NEW PROBLEM

My back floorboards were soaked and my spare tire holder had water in it. Took all the carpet out. Let it dry. Bleached the hell out of the inside of the trunk. Read that there was a common problem with the seals around the taillights leaking. Silconed them... I also reapplied the rubber trunk seal with some good stuff. There is now a small puddle around the little rubber thing in the back corner on the right side that comes from the trunk bottom. It's a little rubber thing with some lines running through it, and has a rubber boot looking thing around it. Right behind that seems to be a spot for a tiny 2 inch in diameter puddle. Also. I took the side pieces of carpet off the inside of the trunk and under it was a lot of condensation. Was wondering if this is caused by not having interior in, in the trunk. I've sealed the strip around the trunk... the taillights. What else could be leaking ?

Did you replace the bad taillight seals...or just silicone over them?

Also check the 3rd brake light. Sister's car was leaking from taillights and 3rd brake light. Replaced the seals, siliconed the nuts holding the taillights in place and so far no leaks.

We just siliconed over the old I thought it seemed sufficient but we may have to get a flash light and lay in there and see where it comes from. . You I need to replace them? Where can you get just the seals?

Thanks for the replies guys

I replaced the seals and haven't had a problem since. You get 'em from the dealer. Under $10 each IIRC.
